If you install "Spybot Search & Destroy or have updated it without upchucking the Tea Timer option, you have installed a firewall that I do not recommend you use. Look for a little lock in the lower right corner of your monitor. To uninstall it, remove Spybot S & D, reboot and reinstall. Make sure you uncheck the tea timer during the install process.

AVG 8.0.01 Virus Protection

Download AVG 8.0 Free file. Save to desktop.

Uninstall AVG 7.5 from the add and remove programs list.

Put checks in the two little boxes that show up during the uninstall. Restart your computer.

Doubleclick on the AVG file you downloaded. Do not install the security toolbar, uncheck it. Standard installation. Let it do an update.

When finished open AVG and doubleclick on email scanner. Check the outgoing mail box. Close that window. Open AVG again. Go to tools, Advanced Settings, Email scanner on the left side of the screen. On the right side of the screen, put check marks in both of the "with attachments only" boxes. Close out each screen.

Move the downloaded AVG file to a my downloads folder in my documents or delete it.

The default time to scan is 12 noon, reset this to some time when your machine is on, but you don't often use it. Open AVG, click on scanner, click on automatic scan time, click on edit time.
