This months presention will be by

1. What I have prepared is mostly on Windows 7 and the differences between it and XP.
2. I have changed my web page to reflect the software I am now
recommending - 3 programs
AVG 9.0 Free, Malwarebytes and Spywareblaster
I am also recommending CCleaner - only if you "do not" use the registry cleaner and "do not" change the default settings on the cleaner. It is the first of the optional programs on the list - "News" link.
All of these programs work well on Windows 7, Vista or XP. I will just cover this briefly on Sunday the 9th.
3. I will also say a little about the Microsoft Virtual XP program and its use
(Compatibility of older XP programs).
4. I could cover a little bit about 32 or 64 bit
The laptop I will be using is 64 bit.
5. You can cover the ppt and pps item as I know you have that knowledge.
Attached is the outline I have prepared on XP - Win 7 differences / features. The link on the second page in the .doc format takes you to the Microsoft Website where I obtained most of the videos I will be showing. Anyone can go there and view them before the meeting.
Major Differences between XP and Windows 7
My Documents is split into Documents, Pictures & Music.
Select items using Control/select and Shift/select.
Choose programs on the list by clicking at each level.
Control Panel is completely different- Add and remove programs is now "Programs and Features".
Loss of Power usually doesn't corrupt the operating system beyond the point it can't repair itself.
Uses the native resolution of your monitor.
Uses Library's to keep track of documents on one computer and on other computers connected by Home Group.
Win 7 Taskbar allows user to control system tray items.
Taskbar displays item thumbnails of open programs/windows.
CD, DVD and ISO files can be written without add-on programs.
Networking is much easier for a novice to set-up.
Search feature is instant and much improved.
